Trails From The Crypt is the ultimate “4WD-thru” House of Horrors.  The event is on a private property called Pennywise that our club has exclusive access to for building sustainable 4WD trails.

We decorate a trail route with tons of spooktacular surprises.  The route has challenges without being too difficult for anyone in our club.  The trip covers a hundred acres and usually takes 2 - 3 hours to complete.

Then we jump into using the more difficult trails and simply wheeling after dark - costumes and decorated 4x4s encouraged!

If you just want to attend the 4 Wheel Drive Thru House of Horrors, it is from 6 pm on Saturday to Midnight.

  • The cost is $20/rig for the Trail Ride only option
  • Trailer parking is available at Walmart and nearby locations in Loudon, NH.

For volunteers, this event is FREE from 4 pm on Friday until 5 pm on Sunday or portions thereof. Volunteers get to camp, enjoy the fire after hours, a pizza dinner and get to wheel more.  We always encourage more food for pot luck style late night snacks, lunches and breakfasts. For volunteers, trailer parking is available on the property.

The people that bring decorations, props, generators, and help to set up and clean up have made this massive Halloween fest happen for 4 years now, and it gets bigger and better everytime.

There will be a porta-potty rental on site for all attendees throughout the whole weekend.

To be perfectly clear, passengers in your rig are welcome and they don't need to register, just sign our waivers at check in.

Anyone can donate to the event to help supply food and more disposable decorations we consume every year, like webs, caution tape and batteries. If there’s any surplus, it will go to the Land Fund we established at the Annual Meeting in May.

Itinerary -

  • Friday, 4 pm - The gate will be open for volunteers to come early and set up camp. Hopefully we can get a little decorating done Friday evening.
  • Saturday, 9 am - Open for volunteers.  We plan to start setting up early, and leave plenty of time to set up your camp in the daylight.
  • Saturday afternoon - Pizza dinner for volunteers.
  • Saturday, 6 pm until 12 am - Open for attendees for wheeling.
  • Sunday morning - clean up.  The earlier the better, we can do more wheeling afterwards.

Decals - We will have decals available at the event and you can purchase them when you RSVP or with cash on site.  Decal sales go directly to the Land Fund.

For THIS event, if you want to invite a guest with a 4x4, we are waiving some of our normal requirements.  We will have tickets for members and their guests to volunteer or simply attend.  Forward your guest the email announcement.  Easy.  (A board member will forward a no cost guest member application to them for the event after they sign up.)

Your guest's 4x4 must be equipped to meet our requirements for this event -

  • Valid street registration
  • 29" minimum tire size (We recommend 32/33" tires for this trip, but it's not required)
  • A spare tire
  • Front and Rear Recovery Points subject to inspection
  • Tow Strap with no metal attachments sewn on. No chains, no tow straps with hooks.
  • Seat Belts for all passengers

This unique event is a lot of fun for everyone!  Maybe we'll even see a Sasquatch lurking about, who knows?
